Last May, Google announced its plans to launch a major search algorithm update in 2021. The changes will reportedly focus on providing better page experience for users, based on a new set of quality metrics Google has developed called the Core Web Vitals. In November, we learned that this core algorithm update is scheduled to begin rolling out in May of 2021, and it has the potential to change the very foundation of search engine optimization (SEO) practices, from strategy to execution.
The good news is that, as an integrated, full-service communications agency, Comprise is primed to deliver the exact kind of expertise our website clients will need to help them adjust to the new era of search in 2021 and beyond! As Vice President of Digital Services, I presented a webinar at this year’s Fort Collins Startup Week detailing what we know about the changes coming in May, how to find out if your website might be affected and what you can do right now to improve page experience for your site’s users.
Covered in This Presentation:
- What elements of a website affect a user’s “Page Experience?”
- What are “Core Web Vitals” and how are they measured?
- Why should businesses care about the search update coming this May?
- What can site owners do right now to improve users’ experience on their site?
